 It started in a quiet kitchen at Christmastime. Every year, the same ritual: olives chopped by hand, garlic roasted until golden, herbs torn fresh from the garden, and oil poured with care. The aroma meant only one thing—she was making the spread.

It wasn’t just food. It was a gift—literally. Carefully packed into small jars and tied with ribbon, it was passed out to neighbors, friends, and anyone lucky enough to be on the list. One taste, and people asked the same thing every year:

“Can I buy this from you?”

Back then, the answer was always no. It was a family thing. A tradition. A recipe handed down from generations of women who cooked not for commerce, but for connection.
